A must to read in this crazy world
Brilliant and witty, a very entertaining read!
If you loved Douglas Adams and The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy then you will love this book. I loved that on my lunch breaks I could pick it up and be transformed into this other world with these characters. I liked this book because the author attempts to answers the age old question "Why are we here?" in a funny twisted plot with extreme characters. I look forward to the sequel!
I enjoyed this book on so many levels. On the surface it's packed with wit and humor, some subtle, some not so subtle, as you go deeper - strictly your choice of course - you get to engage in many well constructed, if not outlandish, "what if" moments.
Like for instance, what if this alternate telling of how the earth came to be is actually...true? This book is a delight to read.
God (or Bill Friday) gave you free will. Use it. Read The Grand Scheme Of Things.
Any book that can incorporate the word "nincompoop" so smoothly into a story is OK by me. Ian Strong combines witty wordplay with imaginative science fiction in a fast, fun read. I enjoyed his unique writing style and vision in The Grand Scheme Of Things and recommend it highly.
Ian Strang created a world filled with well drawn characters with inventive names, and so much humor that I could not help laughing out loud. The universe he created was clever and full of surprises, yet included some universal truths, traits and trials of our own. But then, maybe it is. On any level, his world is one I loved visiting, and look forward to the next vision of his creative mind. Highly recommend this debut novel.
